Fusion Giving & Emporium
FUSION GIVING is an innovative scheme run by Fusion Housing in partnership with Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing. The scheme collects unwanted household goods and furniture free of charge. These items are then distributed to many vulnerable tenants across Kirklees to help them turn their house into a home.
Making a house in to a home can be hard on a limited budget, whether you are trying to get furniture or trying to put a regular meal on the table. Fusion Housing and Kirklees Council can support your access to local provisions in Kirklees.
So far, the scheme has donated over 40,000 items to over 5,000 families across Kirklees.
We are always in need of the following items in good condition:
- Sofas (must be labelled with Fire Regulations)
- Chest of Drawers
- Coffee Tables
- Beds and Matresses (free from rips and stains and less than 10 years old)
- New Duvets and Pillows
- Pans, Crockery, Cutlery and Small Kitchen items
- New/Laundered Towels, Bedding and Curtains
- Washing Machines
- Microwaves, Kettles and Toasters
All Electrical items must be in fully working order and without any rust or black mould. We PAT test all electrical items.
We apologise that we are unable to take any gas appliances.
How to donate to Fusion Recycling
If you have unwanted quality goods that you want to donate then please contact us and arrange for a free collection on 01924 490702 or send our recycling team your request on the contact form below.
Your donations really make a difference. All donations are reallocated to people in need in your local community and communities across Kirklees.
What if I need furniture to set up my new home, or what if an essential appliance breaks down and I can’t afford a new one?
If you are in receipt of benefits and need help with furniture or white goods please contact Kirklees Council’s Local Welfare Provision on 01484 414782 and make a direct application for assistance. Lines are open 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
The Local Welfare Provision Service will consider what options are avialble to you and may make a referral to a Local Credit Union partner for them to assess whether they can help with a low cost loan to pay for new items. If you are accepted for assitance we will then be asked to supply the agreed new items.
We aim to make the best use of recycled donated items and may be able to provide additional items free of charge but this will be limited by the availbility of donated items.
If you are already working with another service at Fusion Housing they can assist you in contacting the Local Welfare Provision Service.
If you are a Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing (KNH) tenant, please contact your housing officer for help in contacting the Local Welfare Provision Service.
